Zadar
Zadar is a peninsula in the Adriatic Sea.
The old city of Zadar has lots of beautiful things to visit and to enjoy.
The historic part of Zadar is very interesting.
The Island Ugljan
Located opposite Zadar and easily accessible by ferry boat.
It’s an island full of small, cozy villages and fishing ports, with different beaches where you can enjoy a swim and a sunbath.
The island Pag is situated 50km away from Zadar and is connected with the mainland by a bridge.
Well-known by its salt pans, rock formations, old olive groves and delicious sheep-cheese.
The picturesque fishing town Nin is about 20 km away from Zadar.
Worth visiting is Sveti Križ, built in the 9th century.
It’s the most important Old-Croatian building and the smallest Cathedral in the world.
Dugi Otok, in English “Long Island”, is 45 km long and only a few kilometers wide.
This island is not yet overrun by tourists.
From Zadar you need an hour and a half by ferry .
National Park Plitvice
One of the most beautiful wonders of nature in Croatia.
Protected as world heritage by Unesco, and situated about 150 km away from Zadar.
National Park Krka
The National Park Krka, 75 km away from Zadar, is well-known by its lakes, streams and waterfalls of green-blue water.
National Park Kornati
The unspoiled nature and the numerous small and large islands together with the beautiful sea transform the Kornati Islands into a real paradise.
National Park Paklenica
Starigrad-Paklenica is situated 40 km north of Zadar, at the foot of the Velibit Mountains, the biggest Croatian mountain massif.
It’s an exceptionally beautiful nature reserve!
Modrić caves
In an adventurous and unique way, you can discover the wonders of the underground in the Modrić caves of the small village Rovanjska near the National Park Paklenica.
River Zrmanja
The karst river Zrmanja in the Velibit Mountains is ideal for an active and sporty day of rafting, kayaking or canoeing.
River Krupa and Kuda’s bridge
The river Zrmanja and its tributary the river Krupa, is one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe.
The most beautiful part of the river is “Kudin Most” , a protected monument from the 18th century.
Natural park Vransko Jezero
The biggest Croatian lake is a real paradise for bird lovers.
For the lovers of less strenuous forms of recreation Vransko Jezero is the perfect place.

From Zadar you can easily make day trips to historic places, by car or by public transport.
